This is stunningly beautiful, showing dark cherry, bouquet garni, game and toasted nut aromas on the nose. The palate offers outstanding concentration and plush mouthfeel, superbly enhanced by layers of sensual texture and seductive flavours. Tannins are ultra-fine and in abundance, making it flowing and expansive.

CANDICE CHOW FOR RAYMOND CHAN WINE REVIEWS

review

Moderately deep ruby-red with a black core, lighter on the rim. This has an alluring bouquet with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, sweet floral, vanilla and herbs. Medium-full bodied, aromas of black cherry and blackberry are ripe and pure, unfolding sweet floral, thyme, vanilla and cinnamon. The succulent fruit is accompanied by lively acidity, a lightly creamy mouthfeel, and silky tannins flow to a broody, rich closing. This enticing Pinot Noir shows ripe fruit and vibrant acidity on a fine structure and lengthy finish. Match with roasted lamb or hare over the next 6+ years. Fermented to 13.5% alc. herb and delicate spice. Medium-bodied, aromas of cherry and plum entwined with thyme, mocha, vanilla and cinnamon. The mouthfeel is smooth with dusty tannins; concentrated fruit layers with spice and flows along a lacy acid line to a satisfying finish. Match with lamb rack and duck over the next 5+ years.

There’s no mistaking the variety with this wine, a savoury youthful bouquet with aromas of spiced dark cherries and plums, a layer of gravelly soil and wild red flowers. On the palate a dry wine with an equal savoury intensity and fruit core, then textures from youthful firm tannins and acid line, the fruit easily takes on board the taut youthfulness of the structure. A wine that needs time to settle and develop into its best sense of place and complexity. Best drinking from 2027 through 2035+.
